Dawn of an Era
Seven billion people live on planet earth. By 2050, that number will have grown to nine billion and energy consumption will have doubled. Our energy systems face fundamental changes. About half a century ago, the great power plants were built that still supply us today. But now we are again at the crossroads where it is time to choose the path for the next 50 years. It is the dawn of a new era. The fossil age is coming to an end. Again, the use of atomic energy is back on the agenda. Yet in the past energy was obtained from the sun, wind, water and biomass. They also belong to the future.
